Chasing Arrears
If you are late paying your rent, we will contact you daily, politely until we can speak with you to agree a payment plan for the outstanding balance. If you have a genuine reason for late payment and work with us to agree a payment plan, we will not charge late fees.
Affect on your Credit Score
We ask all tenants to work with us to help build your credit score via our partner “Credit Ladder”, who report on the payment history of your rent to the UK’s largest credit reference agency – Experian.
Non-payment of rent (and a lack of co-operation regarding a payment plan) will be reported to Experian and will be recorded on your credit file as missed payments, which is likely to affect your ability to get mobile phone contracts, personal finance (such as credit cards and loans) for many years.
Pursuing Unpaid Rent
We will ALWAYS pursue unpaid rent by means of a “Money Claim Online” (MCOL), which if ignored, will result in a County Court Judgement (CCJ) against you, which is likely to affect your ability to get mobile phone contracts and personal finance (such as credit cards and loans) for many years.
